The Babies of 2008

2008 brought many changes around here.  But we still have a few babies to feed and play with.
The Breeders

There are no babies without the Mama's and the Papa's.  Here's a few pictures of them

If you have an interest in our babies please feel free to contact us either through email at olivebranchaviary@hughes.net or you can phone us at 205-415-1444

As a small breeder, I normally only have a few babies for sale at any given time.  We've had a great fall season this year.  Pebbles and Comet, the Scarlets, have filled the house with baby Macaws, and my Congo African Greys made a contribution to the group too.  So I've been blessed with Scarlets and African Greys this year.

The macaws had to be pulled within hours of hatching.  The African Greys have a great mom.  The following are pictures made of them all as they developed and grew into beautiful pets.

5 day old macaw chicks
Chicks this young are fed every two hours around the clock. But they grow so quickly. It wasn't long until they were joined by a bunch of baby Greys. These chicks hatched at the first of September. The Scarlet Macaw hen Pepples would lay again and I pulled two more chicks the first of November.

Feeding time was always very busy but it wasn't long until they were digging into food on their own.

It isn't long until they all take flight. We allow all of our babies to fully fledge, to fulfill the instinct to fly. It makes for some very active play time!! But the birds develope better and are healthier when allowed to follow as path closer to their normal developement.
